Announcing the 2009 Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building Awards

Call for Entries

Along with our sponsors, SBIC is proud to announce the 2009 Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building Awards. This unique program recognizes the initiatives that shape, inform and catalyze the high-performance building market, as well as the real-world application of high-performance design and construction practices. New to the program in 2009 is a special subcategory for high-performance renovation, retrofit, and reuse projects.  This additional subcategory was created by the SBIC Awards Committee in order to highlight the need to preserve and improve existing buildings.

Winners of the Beyond Green™ Awards will be invited to present their projects on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. in February of 2010, in conjunction with an educational briefing for the High-Performance Buildings Congressional Caucus.  Winning projects will also be published on the Whole Building Design Guide Web site (www.wbdg.org), which is managed by the National Institute of Building Sciences.  Additional recognition will include an announcement in SBIC's quarterly newsletter, Buildings Inside & Out, a feature article in ed+c magazine, a handsome plaque, posting on the Council's Web site and inclusion in SBIC technical guidelines and publications.

To learn more about the 2009 Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building Awards, please dowload the Call for Entries and click on the links to the left.  Vist the SBIC Web site frequently for program updates, including the jury announcement and details about the Capitol Hill briefing.  This year's deadline for entries is October 30, 2009.
