Federal Residential Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
This 30% residential solar property tax credit is currently in effect for property placed in service after December 31, 2008 through to December 31, 2016. The credit enables individual taxpayers to offset AMT liability, and to carry unused credits forward to the next succeeding taxable year.
For a review of how to apply the tax credit, see IRS Provides Guidance for Residential PV in ASES' Solar Today Magazine Online or via a one-page reprint (PDF).
